Hongkong

Tuesday, September 3, 1929

Spent all morning in town fooling around and the afternoon in Kowloon. 81° shade but plenty hot due to a great humidity. The air is depressing at night if there is no breeze. Can hardly sleep. I have heard the people on the hills in Hongkong have an electric light going all the time in their clothes closets to keep the things from becoming damp. Not surprised. Had my money all changed into Shanghai bills and had to scrap 16 big Canton coppers.
