Aboard Linan

Monday, September 9, 1929

We sailed from the inlet after breakfast amid the tunes of “Old Man River,” “Rosemarie,” etc. The sea still swelly but not so bad as before. Thus the girls survived getting sick all day long, though Jean took precautions to eat lunch on deck. Toward evening we sailed between some picturesque islands, especially so as the sun went down. In the evening we played Mahjjong. Lots of fun and not hard except the counting.

We are a day and a half late to date but should be in Shanghai by Wednesday.
